A litte bi of company history
Navyo Nepal was founded in November 1998 by then K. B. Bharati under sponsoring of Navyo Eller, Italian travel writer, modest aplinist and paraglider involved in the adventure sports since the mid eighties until end of the nineties.
Quite soon the company changed as K.B. changed life with his new wife, so the company had to change and it was destiny that it was to become one of the few woman led in the year 2001.
Woman entrepeneurship
Manju Baral was previously working in the NGO sector, where she was active with woman. Since 1997 she was also related to Navyo, eventually they married. It was quite a challange to decide to took over the company. In those days even in the capital for a woman to engage in entrpreneurship was not easy at all.
She eventually decided to maKe the jump and made the company one of the very few with a woman leadership in the male dominated tourism sector.
With her the company started to expand slowly and steadily mostly on the italian market, supported by Navyo Eller, who with with his experience in conducting different type of expeditions and travels allowed to expand beyond Nepal into China and Bhutan.
Conducting familarization trips for italian media either in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board as well on it's own, Navyo Nepal became well known for the good insight and conduction of many different requirements and started collaboration with television and print media on a regular basis ever since.
Even before many picked up "eco", "social responsability" as a marketing tool, social responsabiltiy in tourism was already incorporated this since the inception of the company.
Present and future'
The years are gone by and we evolved and gain experience.
Besides beeing member of all concerned legal and professional organisations, we're members of European Chambers of Commerce and different socially and ecologically focused organisations by today.
With our network spanning from Dehli to Beijing, from Kathmandu to Paro, we serve a wide jet regional Asian area where we operate because we know ourself the region. The company has no plan to further extend - we belive in regionality and in the position which says that you can't be everywhere an expert.
As a commercial company we actively promote tourism. We plan individualized or personalized custom tailored travels according to the needs of our clients. The main task in the future will be sustainable tourism. We will say also in future no to helicopter flights into the National Parks just for fun or comodity of clients. And we will surely not become a huge conglomerate of companies, but remain a overseeable small-medium sized travel comany for abled and different abled, for gay and non-gay. Because our vision is also to help humans to enjoy and learn at the same moment the time they have given in our hands which we call "holiday" or travel time among other.
